We’ve seen a massive increase over the last few months in the number of manufacturers producing vivid coloured golf balls. The trend at the moment seems to be with the matte finish varying colour of balls. Callaway have recently launched their Superhot Bold balls which come in a matte finish red, orange and yellow (the bonus of these balls is that they also come as a 15 ball pack). The Superhot Bold is a super long distance ball with a bold design and superb short game spin and control. The coloured balls are designed to be more visible when played, if you compare a white ball to its coloured counterpart you can see it actually looks bigger, they are the same size. To keep up with the trend for coloured golf balls we have recently invested in new technology to be able to print more effectively onto these golf balls and still be able to offer orders with no minimum quantity. Previously our printers have not used white, making printing onto darker coloured balls and printing photographs to coloured balls difficult. Darker coloured text or logos would not show up on darker coloured golf balls and when printing photographs the background colour of the balls influences the final print. Similar to printing a colour photo onto a coloured piece of paper, if we print a blue image onto a yellow ball the end result will come out green. For photographs printed onto coloured golf balls we will now put down a layer of white before printing the photograph over the top, this allows the full colour of the image to be visible. Don’t forget though if you do have a dark photograph which is being printed onto a darker coloured ball it still will not be as visible as on a light coloured ball. Most of these come in boxes of 12 and when choosing a personalised golf ball the price includes printing your photo, logo or text to one side of the ball. We offer a second side of printing for a further photo, logo or text, this is charged at £5 per box.
