Floating Golf Balls - DARK PINK (12 Pack) by Joan Wright |
03/02/2010 |

 |
Good for distance due to them appearing to be very slightly lighter than normal. One problem, though they float and do EVENTUALLY come to the side. If the water is a large expanse be prepared to let many groups through before you can retreave your ball.

A brilliant solution for around the greens at a cracking price. The big advantage is they are easy to keep on track, feel soft off the face and you will loose very little distance.
Why pay big bucks for a pro v1. Give them a try.

These balls are very cheap but you get what you pay for. I used them this weekend and each ball was good for maybe 2-3 holes then it was damaged. The suface would be damaged by the club head and you would have frayed pastic from the grooves on the club head. Not only that but even out of the box some had plastic sticking out from the casts. Not a great ball. Spend a little more and get better quality balls.

Great all round ball to rival Srixon X-Star and ProV1. Good distance and feel around the greens. Great price on this site too. I've not been able these for less that £35 in pro shops.

Can't fault the ball.. but not good value. Be sure that the extra money for these balls goes straight on Pro sponsorships and advertisings promoting that they are the best ball on the market.

I used to use ProV1's but switched to Srixon Z-Star as a cheaper alternative. If anything I feel it is a better ball than ProV1. All the feel and distance, plus they last longer. I've tried other premium balls and for me it matches or betters the others and they are also great value in comparison.

They do what they say. Fly very high and carry a long way. Putting is OK. The price has come down making them a much better deal now- but it seems like everyone is using a Nike ball- so I still prefer using the Noodle.

I liked these. OK distance and very nice to put. They flew pretty straight, but I found that they didn't quite have the same distance as others in this price range. I also found that they got scuffed up pretty quickly.

Very nice. The benchmark at this price point as far as I am concerned. Great distance and not too bad on the green. Can't comment on the spin for short games (mine is not that good) but overall I have yet to find a better price-performance balance.

Bridgestone B330 Tour (12 Pack) by Stephen Killick |

Everyone, but everyone plays Titleist so I want to play a ball that is just as good but different. This is why I play a Bridgestone. I have tried both the B330 and the B330S. For me the 330 goes further apart from in very cold conditions when the 330S seems more responsive.
But they are both a first rate ball to play and offer consistency on both tee and green. I would not play anything else.

I play off 14 with a natural left to right path(slice) with the driver, i have played with both srixon blue and green inthe last couple of years which i have felt comfortable with. I won a box on these in a competition so tried them and didn't take to them straight away felt a little harder on the puttter face, but i soon realised they were lasting a long time i was playing round after round with these without losing them.
It all boils down to less spin on the ball with the driver these consistantly stay straight.

I am happy with these balls as they provide good distance, feel and spin.
On the downside they do tend to mark, cut up,scuff and chip quite easily.
I will keep using them but they should be better wearing for the price!!!!

Titleist AP1 Irons by ALAN GRAVE |
09/01/2009 |
|
 |
I have had my custom set of AP1's for three weeks - Lie 2 degrees up, standard length shafts, DGR300 shafts, Mid -size Grips - they are fantastic. I am a 27 handicap golfer who wanted to improve, I had an old set of John Daly Wilson clubs which I believe were in excess of 15 years old.
I looked at a range of clubs incuding Calloway X22's, Taylormade Burner 09's, Cleveland CG7's, Adams A03E's, Wilson staff and Nike Slingshot's - I tried them all in various golf outlets and eventually decided on the AP1's.
I purchased them through my Pro at my Golf club and he and his staff were brilliant in explaining the ins and outs of my custom fitting - I would recommend all to have a session with their pro.
Two rounds of 18 holes since purchased along with a number of range visits, but from first hit they have been unbelievable. My last 18 holes I played all shots except 2 with my irons, only took the driver out on two holes and didn't use a fairway wood at all. Fantastic feel, beautiful look at address and so comfortable through the swing. Two shot improvement performance to handicap in those two rounds.
If you are looking for irons at the moment, do yourself a favour and try them, nothing to lose!
Enjoy your golf all.

TaylorMade TP Black (12 Pack) by Martin Bedborough |
08/06/2009 |
|
 |
There has been a lot of competition in the premium ball market in the last few years with a number of big names looking to muscle in. One of those names is Taylormade who have enjoyed success with their TP black and red balls. The cynics will say that it is fine for the professionals who get their balls for free, hit it into the next postcode and get it to settle on the green like an old family dog in front of the open fire, but what about us golfing mortals.
I am a recent convert to the TP black having received a free sleeve with my new Taylormade clubs. It is slightly firmer than its TP red brother. It is a 3 piece ball and has a solid feel to it. On the green it gives a nice feel of the putter head and a pleasing noise as you send it on its way to the bottom of the cup. I am not a spin king with my short clubs but I have found that there is a receptive feel to the ball with wedges on those tricky shots around the green and that I can control the spin well. On approach shots I can fire with confidence at the flag as the Taylomade design promotes a good spin rate without being excessive.
However it is with longer shots, particularly the big dog off the tee that the TP black comes into its own. This three piece ball has been designed with what Taylormade have called LDP (low drag performance) and it bores through windy conditions with ease.
Taylormade have successfully designed a ball that will appeal to low figure handicappers looking to fire shots that lie next to the flag like an old dog in front of an open fire, handicappers looking for distance and spin control to help shave those odd shots off their scorecard, or simply the discerning golfer who recognises a qulaity ball at a competitive price

Strange ball! Built for 'skilled' golfers, yet offers no control at all. Hit one with a pitching wedge, landed it by flag from a height and watched as it ran on and on off the back of the green. Rubbish. Goes ok with longer clubs, but feels harsh.
